Amazon Best-Selling & Award-Winning Author

Hi! I’m Annie Lisenby.

A native of the Missouri Ozarks, I’ve traveled to exciting places that I bring into my writing. I primarily write for teens and young adults, but I also enjoy expanding into other areas too. In most of my work, you’ll find a generous dash of romance. I am represented by Amy Brewer with Metamorphosis Literary Agency.

With an MFA in theatre, I am the theatre program director and instructor at a rural community college. I have performed professionally as an actor and stunt performer and am a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild.

When not teaching in the classroom, I also teach writing workshops on using theatre techniques that come from my upcoming book on writing, From Stage to Page.

My debut YA novel A Three-Letter Name was released in May 2022. It was an Amazon best-seller and best YA novel winner of the Missouri Author Project, part of the Indie Author Project. I have also been published in Chicken Soup for the Soul and was a regular contributor to a regional magazine for three years.

When not writing and teaching, I can be found reading and exploring nature with my husband and two children.

A little more about Annie

I began writing in 2018 knowing little about the industry. In that time, I’ve learned a lot, including a lot of what not to do. I’m grateful for the amazing writing community I’ve found locally and through social media who’ve encouraged and supported me along the way. A group dear to my heart is the #momswritersclub on Twitter. If you’re a mom and a writer, come and join the fun!
